HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Configuration (Windows x, 8)

This document is for HP and Compaq PCs with Windows 10 and Windows 8.

The Microsoft System Configuration (msconfig) tool is a Microsoft software awarding used to modify configuration settings, such as which software opens with Windows. It contains several useful tabs: Full general, Kick, Services, Startup, and Tools. This certificate explains how you lot can use these tabs to resolve problems with your computer.

  • Base video - Boots to Windows user interface in minimal VGA mode.

The Tools tab lists diagnostic tools and other advanced tools you can run to improve computer performance.
